A Charming Region
Schwarze Pumpe´s surrounding area is made up of a unique combination of nature, recreation areas, culture, tourism and industry. INDUSTRIEPARK SCHWARZE PUMPE is not only situated in the heart of Europe but also in an attractive landscape providing a wide variety of recreational opportunities. The region used to be characterized by opencast mines. The exhausted mine pits are have been recultivated and transformed into recreational areas.

Lausitz Lakelands
The Lausitzer Seenland (The Lakelands of Lausitz) is on its way to becoming a distinctive “Water world” with a chain of lakes connected by navigable canals. Unique in Europe, a range of sports and recreation facilities, job opportunities and homes, both on the water and on land, is being created – from landing places on water, to marinas and floating homes.

Spreewald
The Spreewald Forest is not only for water sports enthusiasts. Paddle your way through the 970-km-long watery labyrinth of the Spreewald, and immerse yourself in the unique culture of the Sorbs, among thick alders and ash forests, lush green meadows and see a wide variety of wildlife at close range.

Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland)
In nearby Saxon Switzerland, mountain climbing began as an official sport more than 100 years ago. With more than 1,000 free-standing peaks and rock pillars and well signposted hiking paths, it is ideal for mountaineering and hiking enthusiasts.

Well-developed System of Cycle Paths
The Lausitz has well developed cycle paths network connecting the various villages and places of interest. Those who do not wish to make an individual cycle tour can also choose from a wide range of theme tours.
